2.9 Watercolor Seashells
Objective
Practice precision while painting gradients in warm and cool color palettes.
1) Choose two seashells and lightly draw them in pencil next to each other on mixed-media paper.
2) Outline your final drawings with fine ink.
3) Paint one shell with warm color gradients, and the other with cool color gradients (each section of the shell should be separate from its neighbors as in the examples above). Make sure your gradients include transparency levels 1-5.
Novice (50%)
Student does not complete all steps, has no gradients, or submits work incorrectly.
Apprentice (80%)
Student completes most steps, has some gradients, or a weak attention to detail.
Master (100%)
Student completes all steps with great gradients and a strong attention to detail.
