2.8 Pastel Animal Eye
Objective
Create a vibrant oil pastel painting of an animal eye with at least 2 blending techniques.
1) Choose a photo of a close-up animal eye.
2) Use masking tape to create a border on 2 pieces of black paper.
3) Create a rough draft painting using dark marks and burnishing to blend.
4) Create a final draft on using dark marks, burnishing, and vegetable oil to blend.
Novice (50%)
Student does not complete all steps, has improper masking, or submits work incorrectly.
Apprentice (80%)
Student completes most steps, has some improper masking, or a weak attention to detail.
Master (100%)
Student completes all steps with proper masking and a strong attention to details
Divine (Extra Credit)
Student expertly uses sharpening and dodge and burn to elevate their image even further.
