1.10 Stylized Prop
Objective
Design, render, and color a single stylized prop.
| Choose or create a prompt to design such as a health potion, sword, treasure chest, or armor piece. Add your prompt to your site. |
| Create a mood board with 10+ inspirational artworks (don’t copy from other’s art, though!). Add the link to your site. |
| Design your prop with a sketch. Choose an angle that shows its form easily. Start rough, making sure the shape and perspective are correct. Then refine the drawing with details |
| Follow a tutorial on how to render a material in your prop (glass, metal, leather, etc.). Add your completed practice to your site. |
| Use the 4 Laws of Light to render your prop in black and white. Your prop will most likely be floating in front of a simple gradient. Choose a main light source, then add more later. |
| Color the painting with overlay and normal layers. Add to your site. |
Novice (50%)
Student does not complete all steps or submits work incorrectly.
Apprentice (80%)
Student completes most steps, follows their prompt loosely, or doesn't render using all 4 Laws of Light.
Master (100%)
Student completes all steps, follows their prompt, and carefully renders using the 4 Laws of Light.
