Create a simple landscape using watercolor gradients and ink.
1) Plan
Draw in the style of Jen Aranyi on the hexagon worksheet (make sure at least half of your hexagon is sky). Choose and practice your colors on scratch paper.
2) Prepare
Trace the hexagon onto a 9×12″ mixed-media paper.
3) Draw
Use a fine point Sharpie to draw your mountains and landscape.
4) Paint
Use watercolor to create a gradient sky within the hexagon and above the mountains.
Optional: Add stars with tempera paint once dry.
5) Crop
Carefully cut out the hexagon with a 1/2″ border around your lines.
