Evoke an emotion while practicing photo compositing.
Choose an emotion/vibe you’d like to portray. Then choose the model(s), clothing, props, and object that partially obstructs the model(s). |
Use a 50mm lens at around f1.8 and a tripod to take photos of your “empty” scene and then your partially obstructed model(s). Your chosen emotion/vibe must be easily displayed and understood. |
Open your favorite empty photo and model photo in Photoshop. Stack them as layers and align them perfectly. Add a mask to the top layer and edit as needed to partially obstruct the model(s). Take extra care with accuracy here! Use color and other creative effects to support the emotion/vibe you are portraying. |
Photoshop: click on File > Export > Export As and select the JPG format. All exports should have the long edge equal to 2500px. |
Upload your photo into a gallery block on your WordPress.com website. Describe the objective of the project, what your chosen emotion/vibe was, and how you approached it. |
