4.4 Single Light Portraits
Objective
Establish the foundations of studio portraiture by studying the 5 basic single light styles
Capture and edit 5 portraits using the following single light styles:
1) Flat
2) Paramount/Butterfly (or Clamshell with a reflector)
3) Loop
4) Rembrandt
5) Split Lighting
All portraits must be edited! This includes retouching and color-correction.
You will recreate the top row with the addition of flat lighting.
Novice (50%)
Student does not complete all steps, has improper lighting, or submits work incorrectly.
Apprentice (80%)
Student completes most steps, has some improper lighting, or a lack of needed editing.
Master (100%)
Student completes all steps with proper lighting and strong editing.
