Capture and edit beautiful indoor portraits using the single light source of a window to create drama.
1) Turn off all lights; your background should be simple and dark.
2) Position your chosen model close to a window with indirect sunlight.
Tip: use a reflector or piece of paper to set up a fill light opposite the window if you would like softer shadows.
3) Place your camera close to the wall and 5-7 feet from the model.
4) Zoom to 50mm so the face is not distorted (no wide-angle lens).
5) Shoot 30+ different photos. Remember the composition rules and guide your model through different poses and expressions.
6) Add all photos to Lightroom and star your favorites for further enhancements later. Show Mr. Christer your 40+ photos before editing.
7) Choose your favorite 2+ photos with drama and edit: Retouch, Exposure, Color Correct, Brighten and High-Pass Sharpen the eyes.
